For anyone who reads this in future; this is an example of 'please don't guess at the problem'. The output file in fact contains the XML (both the XML invoice *and* the ZuGFERD specific XML metadata) and with no other information I would simply have closed this bug report, pointing this out. Fortunately the bug report this is marked as a duplicate of came in nearly simultaneously. That report doesn't state that the XML is missing (which it isn't) but sensibly points out that Acrobat can't find it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 708066 ***
