I am trying to build Ghostscript 9.26 on rhel 7.6 ppc64le. However the make command fails with:

ERROR:

	./sobin/libgs.so: undefined reference to  
         `png_init_filter_functions_vsx'`
	`collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status


Python version: Python 3.6.3
Environment : Rhel 7.6 ppc64le
Pip: pip 20.0.2 from /opt/rh/rh-python36/root/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/pip (python 3.6)

Would like some help on this issue. I am running it on a High end VM with good connectivity.

Please specify the VM being used -- Is this a PPC emulator or actual PPC
hardware?

If a login to a PPC system is possible to diagnose this, please let us know
by email.

Assigning to Chris since it is a build issue (and in case his PPC system
allows this to be confirmed).
