probably when a desktop application used Ghostscript to convert/display a PDF
the crash happened.

Version is what comes with Ubuntu Gutsy, Ghostscript SVN revision 8187.

The original bug report doesn't provide sample files, but
a crash that happens so early suggests build problems.
