Description linux786 2003-12-09 17:39:22 UTC
With version 6.53 of ghostscript on SuSE 8.0 Linux, ps2pdf fails on certain
types of postscript files.

One can go to http://partners.adobe.com/asn/tech/ps/technotes.jsp and click on
"samples" and download the samples for Adobe TN 5600. The samples are at:
http://partners.adobe.com/asn/tech/ps/download/samplecode/ps3/ps_smooth and the
final download link is:
http://partners.adobe.com/asn/tech/ps/download/samplecode/ps3/ps_smooth/smooth.zip.
If by the time you read this bug report the above link is dead, then please
contact me at salmankhilji@yahoo.com or the e-mail address that I am using right
now and I will gladly e-mail the postscript files to you.

I have also converted the postscript files to PDF using Adobe Distiller.
Ghostscript produced incorrect results on about half of them. However, once the
postscript files are converted into PDF, gv can view them just fine.

None of the files in smooth.zip failed to run in ps2pdf with GS 8.12. I suggest
upgrading from the extremely old 6.5x codebase.

bug number 687196.
