Enabling the PDF/X-1a:2001 compliance Standard

When trying to embedded the compliance Standard PDF/X-1a:2001 Using GS is not possible.

Command: 
gs -dPDFX -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -sProcessColorModel=DeviceCMYK -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=TEST.pdf PDFX_def.ps TEST.ps

Received Log error as below:
PDF/X-1a:2001 : PDF/X version is not PDF/X-1a:2001
