Starting with 2b91a85069d421465220a83c82ea491733d15017 several regression files have some areas that are unexpectedly black when rendered at 300 dpi to the pgmraw device.  These files include but are not limited to:

tests_private/pdf/PDF_1.7_FTS/fts_09_0922.pdf
tests_private/pdf/PDF_1.7_FTS/fts_12_1205.pdf

An example command line:

  bin/gs -sDEVICE=pgmraw -o test.pgm -r300  ./fts_09_0921.pdf

Digging into this.  A fun combination of shading, transparency and clist.
