Created attachment 7986 [details] A very basic PDF file generated with MS-Word. I have 2 identical installations of GS 9.04 on the same system (Win2K8 R2 64 bit). One for 32 bit Windows and one for 64 bit. Running the exact same command (with the exception of the executable name) to convert a PDF file to PDF/A works on the 64 bit version, but not on the 32 bit version (according to Acrobat X preflight) The command line I use is as follows: -dPDFA -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dNOOUTERSAVE -dUseCIEColor -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sProcessColorModel=DeviceCMYK -sOutputFile=PDFA.pdf pdfa_def.ps SourcePDF.pdf The following files have been attached 1. SourcePDF.pdf: A very basic PDF file generated with MS-Word. 2. PDFA(64).pdf: A fully compliant PDF/A file generated with the 64 bit version of GS 3. PDFA(32).pdf: A non compliant file generated the the 32 bit version of GS 4. Acrobat X Preflight Output.PNG: Output for the 32 bit version pdfa_def.ps is the same for both environments.

I don't have a copy of Acrobat X, please specify the problems which its pre-flight detects. Please also supply pdfa_def.ps if it differs from the standard example.
'Output for the 32bit version' (preflight results) were already attached. I have now attached the PDFA-Def as well

This was a bug which was fixed after the release of 9.04 relating to document metadata. Its indeterminate, sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. See Git revision f369ae5a30143cdfc27df96de9b1b5bab1c72c6f
Cheers, Any ETA on the next official build for the Windows release?
Ghostscript is released at 6-monthly intervals, the next scheduled release will be approximately February 2012.
