When converting the attached PDF file to PDF with GS Head i get 
the /rangecheck in --ashow-- error. It works fine when converting into tiff.

Works for me in v. 8.64 and current HEAD.
The error is confirmed in v. 8.63.

Thanks for the check Alex.

I notice that there are many messages of the form 'Missing Glyph CID=0,
glyph=0x00xx in the font HiddenHorzOCR. The output PDF mail fail with some viewers'

Looks like this was fixed in the 8.64 release, probably issue #689790 with this
patch:

Or simply upgrade to version 8.64.
