compilation of ghostscript on my Linux box:

I made simple patch which allows me to successfully compile ghostscript.

I opted for a slightly different solution, which I felt was a bit more consistent with the rest of the build:

Thanks, now ghostscript compiles fine.

As for my patch, it was a rude approach from the beginning :)
