This PDF file has garbage at the front that prevents it from being
recognized as PDF:

%NumCopies=1
%PDFfileName=R04572B_SRPSTD02_50311_PDF_PDF
%[EndCPOW]

These _are_ valid PostScript comments which causes the remainder of the file to
be processed as PostScript. When the following sequence:

%PDF-1.3
%╟∞Åó
5 0 obj

is processed as PostScript, the first two lines are comments, then the 5 and
0 are pushed on the operand stack, but the 'obj' is not a valid PostScript
operator, so causes an 'undefined' error.

This tool should have an option to save a valid PDF (without prefix garbage).

Section 3.4 of the PDF specification describes the valid file structure.

When I remove the first 71 bytes (the first three lines) this file displays
properly with Ghostscript.
