Created attachment 7974 [details] textorientation.ps Some texts of the attached Postscript-file textorientation.ps are shown with a wrong orientation when viewing the file with GS. The same effect can be seen, if the file is converted to TIFF, PDF... If I send the file to Postscript-printers ( e.g. Ricoh-Aficio, Lexmark ... ), the Postscript-file is printed correctly.

Can you be more specific about which text is mis-oriented ? I've compared the output with the result of creating a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Distiller and am unable to see any differences.

I have attacheched two PDF-files, where you can see the differences. In the file correctorientation.pdf you can see a table in the upper right corner. In the 4th line in left coloumn you can see the word "Schnittstelle". In the file notcorrect.pdf this word is shown with an wrong orientation. There are some more differences.
This issue has already been dealt with (hence Ken's inability to see the problem). It was originally reported here: http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=692365 The patch that fixed the issue is here: http://git.ghostscript.com/?p=ghostpdl.git;a=commitdiff;h=2fab16 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 692365 ***
The patch works fine, when generating TIFF, Postscript etc. But if you generate PDF, the textorientation is still wrong! GS-call: gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -dNOPATCH -dBATCH -o out.pdf textorientation.ps
