Created attachment 6653 [details] eps file with color spectrum that is rendered incorrectly with gs HEAD Hi, the color spectrum at the top of the attached image displays incorrect with current gs svn HEAD.(GPL Ghostscript SVN PRE-RELEASE 9.00 (2010-07-31)) when converted to pdf via ps2pdf okular displays the correct spectrum but issues warnings Error: Input profile is operating on wrong colorspace Error: Can't create transform acroread does not display the PDF and reports "A drawing error occurred" gs displays the pdf file, but with incorrect spectrum. There is no such problem with GPL Ghostscript 8.71 (2010-02-10) Cheers T.
Created attachment 6655 [details] screenshot of the different rendering in gs 8.71 and gs 9.00 (HEAD) the attached screenshot shows the correct rendering at the bottom as produced by gs 8.71 and the incorrect rendering at the top produced with current gs 9.00 HEAD the difference is quite drastic. Cheers T.
The bug first appears in the rev. 11306: r11306 | mvrhel | 2010-05-24 12:31:58 -0400 (Mon, 24 May 2010) | 20 lines Merge of icc_work branch into trunk.
OK. So the issue is actually in a change within the pdfwrite code. The pdf created from 8.71 opens fine with AR but not one created with 9.0.
This file has CIE based color spaces (abc and def) that are not getting converted to the proper equivalent ICC profiles. Will dig into this more to see why. Problem is visible just going to tiff24nc from the eps file.
First issue that I see is that the profile created from the CIEDEF description has a table that looks to not be correct. There are likely 2 issues going on here. One is the improper profile and the other is something going amiss with respect to adding the ICC color spaces in the PDF output.
I got the same problem under Solaris 10 with GS 9.0. The colorspace seems to be suspended. I used PDF an AI Files via ImageMagick. With Version 8.70 all works well!
appears to be fixed in current HEAD last tested bad revision c10532c1b2e63dd6d6d95f1a0b578eb865ff4d9a first tested good revision b128a1424550b3462348bd40ecd768356cdb08ae Cheers T.
