The fix for bug 687295 causes strokes to be rendered as a path containing 
mutliple subpaths, rather than multiple paths containing single subpaths.

This shows unexpected differences in the following file:

tests_private/comparefiles/Bug688728.pdf

This is not caused by the same rectangle special case as 690845.
