Description Marcos H. Woehrmann 2008-06-16 19:42:26 UTC
While investigating the nightly regression report I came across a problem with
the rendering of Altona-Testsuite_p2_S_x3.pdf at 72 dpi. There are white
horizontal lines within the gradient in the upper left hand corner. Rendering
at higher (i.e. 80 dpi) or lower (i.e. 60 dpi) causes the white lines to
disappear. Similarly they do not appear with Adobe Acrobat.

The command line I'm using:

  bin/gs -sDEVICE=ppmraw -r72 -o test.ppm Altona-Testsuite_p2_S_x3.pdf

Note that this isn't technically a regression, since I couldn't find a copy of
Ghostscript that ever rendered this image without the white lines.

Can't reproduce. Please specify exact revision number.

I do see a difference appeared with revision 8790, but that difference is
minor : a shift of white lines. It's an expected difference. The lines also
visible with gs8.50 .

Returning to the author.

I can confirm this appearance with gv in several resolutions (0.5 ... 2.0).
Comment 5 Marcos H. Woehrmann 2008-09-15 11:10:50 UTC
I've changed the title to to indicate this is not a regression, The white lines shown in the screenshot do
not appear when the file is opened in Acrobat or Apple Preview.
Comment 6 leonardo 2009-01-03 07:22:23 UTC
Downgrade the priority because it's not a regression.

More white lines in shadings for robin...
Comment 8 Robin Watts 2019-09-03 12:28:41 UTC
Having backtracked all the way to 9.00 I can't reproduce this any more. Therefore closing.
