Description denis 2008-04-04 07:47:30 UTC
In a pdf document : "patismit.pdf", a text is printed with a TrueType font.
In this text, it seems that a "quoteright" is substituted by a square.

In the content stream of the page number 15, into the strings of text, the
quoteright character value is octal 222 into the "TT1" font.

....
/TT1 1 Tf
0.21 Tw 0 -2.522 TD
[(A)14(u mois d\222ao\373t, je suis all\351 \340 Dr)-14(anouter en)]TJ
0.201 Tw 0 -1.26 TD
[(Belgique pour le F)60(olk F)61(estiv)13(al. Ce n\222est pas)]TJ
....

With Acrobat reader 7, the "\222" character is displayed as an apostrophe or a
quoteright,
with gs 8.61, the character is displayed as a square.

Command line:
/usr/local/gs8.61/bin/gs -g${LARG}x${HAUT} -r600 -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=tiffg4
-sOutputFile=patismit_%04d.tif -dBATCH patismit.pdf

The file "patismit.pdf" is at ftp.jouve.fr :

ftp ftp.jouve.fr
login : ghostjouve
passwd : jouve2script

get patismit.pdf
bye

Regards.

Thank you for using and testing Ghostscript.
I confirm that the problem exists in v. 8.61 but it's fixed in v. 8.62
and the current development version. Please upgrade.
