ps2write outputs Type 1 fonts in the binary pfb format, then ASCII85 encodes the binary data.

There are printers "out there" that can only cope with the ASCII pfa Type 1 format, see:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ghostscript/+bug/1025061

Attached PDF, converted through ps2write illustrates the issue.

Fixed in commit 01dc18e8418fc44a993840f0aeaf741929c1921a

by adopting the patch (mostly).
