Bug 691606

Summary: CUPS failing to print: pstoraster failure
Product: Ghostscript Reporter: Bill Lee <Bill>
Component: CUPS driverAssignee: Till Kamppeter <till.kamppeter>
Status: RESOLVED INVALID
Severity: major CC: htl10, mike, twaugh
Priority: P4
Version: 8.71
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Customer: Word Size: ---

Description Bill Lee 2010-09-13 11:37:34 UTC
All attempts to print to a network attached printer fail with this message:

         /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster failed

Setting LogLevel to debug shows

         (/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster) stopped with status 1!

Only thing that smacks of a previous error is the message

Fontmap entry for Fontmap.local ends prematurely! Giving up.

Full error log can be provided if needed.

This is not an upstream bug but a regression introduced in the Fedora package.
Comment 2 Bill Lee 2010-09-13 11:53:49 UTC
Who, then, is responsible for resolving the problem?
Comment 3 Till Kamppeter 2010-09-13 11:57:18 UTC
Report a bug on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/, package ghostscript.
Comment 4 Tim Waugh 2010-09-13 12:05:58 UTC
No need -- it is already filed there. I will get to it shortly.

Thanks. The same problem appears in a F12 64 bit system. (Plans to upgrade to later release soon.)
